Curriculum

The medium of instruction is English but very special emphasis is given to Hindi the national language and Bengali the regional language. The School lays a great deal of stress on Character formation and development of spiritual and ethical values which are imparted regularly to students through Value Education. In order to develop the latent potentialities, Socially Useful and Productive Work has been enhanced in the curriculum (S.U.P.W.).

The school provides computer based education to allow the pupils to develop and foster their innate talents to keep abreast with modern education from the very beginning and to enhance their academic performance with simple, practical and meaningful use of technology.


Assessments and Promotions

  • There will be two Unit Tests and Assessments besides the Annual Examination.
  • Promotion at the end of the year will be based on attendance, continuous assessment in every subject, work done during the year and overall conduct record.
  • No grade will me given if a student has failed or absented in any subject. Answer scripts of Unit Tests and First Assessments will be shown to the parents. Answer scripts of Final Examination will not be shown.
  • If a pupil does not pass in all subjects, any concession that he/she enjoys will be cancelled.
  • For students who are absent for any assessment/unit test/class test, no provision can be made for supplementary tests.
  • Failure to appear at any assessment can seriously affect a student’s academic progress and promotion.
    • Breach of any of the regulations of conduct at examinations or indiscipline in or outside the hall or the use of unfair means, even if discovered subsequently will merit the cancellation of the particular paper and the student concerned will be awarded a zero.
    • A student guilty of disorderly conduct or irresponsible for causing any kind of disturbance in or near the examination room is liable to be refused admission to subsequent papers.
    • A student is not expected to have in his possession any book, notes or papers, whatsoever during the examination.
  • A student who has missed a Unit Test/Assessment due to sickness and a leave has been sanctioned against a written application on the day of examination with proper medical certificate will be awarded 75% of total marks secured in other assessments and Unit test. No consideration can be made if the candidate misses both the Assessments.
  • There is no arrangement for “re-examination” or “promotion on trial”.
  • A student who fails to secure promotion may be asked to leave the school.
  • A student who fails twice in three consecutive years must be withdrawn. A student of class one who cannot cope with the standard of the school will have to be withdrawn.
  • The reports must be collected by the parents on the stipulated day. A defaulter may be penalized through a fine/and may not be allowed to attend the school until his/her report is collected.
  • The result declared at the end of the year is final and cannot be considered.
  • In all questions of Promotion or Failure, the Principal’s decision is final.
  • Promotions are given on the basis of the whole year’s work and not merely on marks scored in the Final Examination. Total Aggregate of 40% in each subject is a precondition for promotion.

School Uniform

To enable the students to appreciate and enhance the beauty of their own identity and to inculcate a sense of neatness and adjustment to become integrated persons. Holy Family School strongly recommends it students to come neatly and immaculately turn out in their school uniform which is as follows:

Girls

Pink stripped shirt and short sleeves, Navy blue tunic, school belt & tie, white socks and black ankle plain shoes. red ribbon/hair band.

In winter, students must wear V-necked red sweater or navy blue blazer, red scarf and navy blue slacks.

Boys

Pink stripped shirt with short sleeves, Navy blue half pants (with pleats 2+2), school belt & tie, white socks and black plain shoes.

In winter, students must wear V-necked red sweater or navy blue blazer, Navy blue trousers and red monkey cap.

Class V – X

Navy blue trousers (with pleats 2+2) / skirt, pink stripped shirt/blouse.

Every student must wear a clean, complete and correct uniform daily. Uniform is compulsory for school activities, both curricular and co-curricular. Defaulters may be fined or sent back home. Whenever incomplete or incorrect uniform is worn, permission to attend school must be obtained on the Regularity Record under “Uniform”.

To ensure uniformity the following items of the uniform must be obtained from the school : the pant/trousers, shirt, tunic, tie & belt, sweater or blazer, monkey cap, scarf and slacks. No other shades of material will be allowed.

On Mondays students of class I-X shall wear white uniform and white trousers/Half pants/skirt and house T.Shirt on Fridays with white keds.

Personal cleanliness is very essential. The fingernails should be trimmed and the shoes polished time to time.

No bangles, hair pin, rings ornaments etc. are allowed.

School Fees

The school fees covers twelve calendar months and may be paid in monthly instalments or in advance in Canara Bank, Liluah Branch. No reduction is made for holidays or broken periods. Students are liable to be charged full fees as long as their names are officially on the rolls. Fees once paid will not be refunded.

Canara Bank, Liluah Branch will accept the school fees from 7th to 25th of every month. The fees if paid monthly, must be paid between 7th to 17th of every month failing which a late fine of Rs. 20/- will be levied up to the end of the month and thereafter Rs. 20/- per month cumulatively.

The fee defaulters may be debarred from examinations and are liable to have their names struck off the rolls.

The school reserves the right to revise the fees without prior notice at any time of the year if an increment is considered necessary.

Hobbies

Human Resource Development is an integral part of the school curriculum. Various platforms are set up for the pupils to develop the talents and abilities so as to make a way for their creativity to shape through various environment like fine arts, quiz, creative writing, sports and games etc.

Vacation

Vacations are given in the school calendar. These holidays may not be extended or anticipated. Unauthorized leaves on the last days before vacation and delays in returning to school will mean “re-admission” to the school.
